Rahul Prabhakar

My name is Rahul Prabhakar and I'm a writer by profession. I work as a full-time senior technical communicator and trainer (assistant manager grade) for System LSI Business Development division of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. in South Korea from the last five years. I have been a programmer writer for eight years now. I've worked for some of the big names in the business such as Oracle. In addition to writing for a hardcore technical audience, I have taught technical communication to engineers at Samsung as an in-house trainer.

What I most enjoy about my current job is it offers me a chance to learn about new products, technologies, and domains. I enjoy writing on a variety of subjects--both technical and non-technical--but focusing mainly on technology, lifestyle, entertainment, management, and human interest stories.

I'm a regular contributor to magazines such as Dataquest, The Smart Techie, India Economy Review, btw (by the way) - "Live Smart!", STC Intercom, Groove, and 10 magazine.

A few years ago, I was interviewed by Tech Writer Voices - a podcast on technical communication. Also, a correspondent for Indo Asian News Service interviewed me for an article on "Technical writing - the new black gold of India."

I maintain a popular blog on technical communication related topics is titled, "When the Muse Strikes!" Refer to http://2brahulprabhakar.blogspot.com for more information. Other than my own blog, I'm a guest blogger for Gearlog (a PC Magazine site), Tech-buzz, Gadgetell, TMCnet, and yaBloggy.

I am the owner and moderator of a technical communication listserv called Technical Writers India (TWI) on Yahoo! Groups, which is by far the largest mailing list for technical communicators in the Indian subcontinent. Refer to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/technical_writers_india

I enjoy writing; there is nothing else in the world I'll give my right arm for. You can contact me at prabhakar.rahul@gmail.com.
